LEAVING RICHMOND
Leaving Richmond is an ambient/instrumental and electronic pop project formed in New York, NY in 2007. The original, official current lineup consists of one member, Jordan Pier (aka lowercase j), who writes the lyrics and writes and performs the music. Producer and engineer Adam Sanborne is regulary referred to and considered the second and only other member of the project.
Jordan Pier started Leaving Richmond as a purely instrumental project. Upon moving to Los Angeles the sound, which is led entirely by acoustic and electric guitar arrangements, became more ambient and utilized more electronic, keyboard and orchestral elements. Jordan also began to write and incorporate lyrics and through the use of guest vocalists has added an alternative pop style to the catalogue.
The music is regularly being used in various film and TV projects (The NY Islanders TV show: Islanders Illustrated, Robot Chicken on Adult Swim) and is gaining a loyal fan base throughout the ambient, instrumental and electronic pop music universe. The resulting style is a unique combination of alternative, pop and symphonic, down-tempo/chill out elements.
