Mark Petrie

MARK PETRIE 

Born and raised in Auckland, New Zealand, Mark Petrie travelled to the US after winning a scholarship to study film scoring at Berklee College of Music.  Chosen as one of the recipients of the Pete Carpenter Fellowship in 2004, he moved to Los Angeles to work with the TV music icon Mike Post.

In recent years Mark has enjoyed a steady stream of film scoring assignments in a wide range of genres including: Apron Strings, a New Zealand drama that played at the 2008 Toronto Film Festival; A Dangerous Place, an action thriller starring Kristen Dalton; Mr Blue Sky, a drama starring Richard Karn; Farmhouse, a horror starring Kelly Hu and Steven Weber; and Jay and Seth vs The Apocalypse, a horror/comedy starring Jay Baruchel and Seth Rogen.

In addition to his work in film, Mark’s music is used every day in television shows worldwide. He works out of his West LA studio with his wife Gina, composing for projects from all over the world.
