S3 MUSIC + SOUND

           Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, Tim is Post Production Coordinator for S3MX and a song composer and plays both the upright and electric bass. Tim has always had an affinity for music as a child. He started with the cello, then made his way to the piano, then found his bass. Tim has been performing since he was 14 and has never stopped. As a senior in high school he was recognized as the Most Valuable Player in 2005, and was given the chance to meet Wynton Marsalis. Throughout the years, he has been performing, composing music of different genres and has been giving lessons to bass students. He has performed in several musicals throughout New England and has been performing in various colleges including Tufts University.
          Tim graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2009 Cum Laude as a Double Bass Performance major. There he received the Outstanding Bass Player Award in 2009 and was a World Scholarship Recipient in 2005-2007.
          Playing in several different showcase bands, he decided to create his own band. In 2007, he teamed up with a couple of his colleagues and created “FunkSoulLove” which specializes in Hip Hop & R&B music. The band started off as a hobby, but then started to gain a following. They won Tufts University’s “Battle of the Bands” in 2008 and 2009 which resulted in them opening up for artists like Common and The Drop Kick Murphy’s. They also represented Tufts University in RockUs: a Boston-Wide Collegiate rock band competition as the sole Hip Hop band in the competition. Making it to the semi-finals, they became runners up to Berklee School of Music, but still pulled the biggest audience there. Later, his band was featured on ESPN’s “NCAA on Campus”. He has also performed all over Boston in major venues such as The Middle East, The Paradise Rock Club, and Tommy Doyle’s and Johnny D’s, and various colleges.
He joined the S3MX team in July 2009 to pursue song composition and film scoring and he is excited to be part of the team.
