LESLIE LUCIANI
Leslie majored in music at UCLA, playing clarinet in the various bands, singing in the opera chorus and local rock bands, and studying piano with Johana Harris. She was President of the Sigma Alpha Iota music sorority and graduated with honors. After receiving her B.A., she studied acting and voiceover and did a variety of film industry-related jobs before taking time out to raise a family. Her "time off" was well spent, used to write songs, direct ten children's musicals at her church, and underscore The Westminster Readers Theater presentation of "The Gospel of Mark".
With the help and encouragement of her friend, woodwind recording artist Dan Higgins, she then put together her studio and earned her Certificate in Film Scoring from UCLA Extension ("with distinction"). She studied composition privately with Bruce Reich until his recent untimely passing and mourns the loss of his talent and support, as do all of his students. She is currently continuing her film scoring and orchestration studies with composer Jack Smalley.
Leslie scored the TBS pilot "WHAT News?" and has had a number of her songs placed in music libraries. She has just begun work on the independent feature, "Angst and the Ice Age" for director Michael P. Connelly.
The alto quality of Leslie's voice lends itself well to voiceover and she has done narration for many corporate clients including: Chevron-Texaco, The International Association of Machinists (IAM), Guide Dogs for the Blind, Amgen, and most recently, an extensive training series for St. Jude Medical. Her excellent sight-reading skill and love of four-syllable words make Leslie a favorite for medical and industrial voiceover calls.
Leslie conducts the Children's Choir at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Westlake Village and teaches piano privately. Some of her free time is spent volunteering in the Out Patient Surgery Unit at Los Robles Hospital.
She is a member of The Society of Composers & Lyricists; the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (NARAS); ASCAP; SAG; and AFTRA.
